Can you tell what the baby is doing at Sakura Hotel???

Fighting with a monster!!!!!

But its a little lovely one :)

Actually it is not even a monster!

It is a "Manekineko" which is a welcoming cat!

You will see many Manekineko in Japan.

The reason why their paw is raised is that it brings in customers and good luck!

We always have it by the reception counter.

We will always welcome you with the cat :)

Today's our big guest is...

OBRINT PAS form Spain!!!

They came to Japan for FUJI ROCKFESTIVAL!!!!

It was so cool to see they were having espresso in this evening outside of our cafe...

If I have a coffee at night, I won't be able to sleep :P

Hey everyone!!!

Today I'd like to tell you about what I believe to be a very nice project, the IMPOSSIBLE PROJECT! This is all about....old films and photography!

Maybe some of you can remember of the old Polaroid cameras that your parents or your grandparents might have cherished in the 70ies....with an instant picture getting out of it?!

Well, this has become kind of a collector....

That's when we can all smile again, as a team located in Netherlands, has decided to make some films again but this good ol' camera....

Oktoberfest!!!

Today a German couple checked in at the hotel and had a look at our collection of German beers in the cafe fridge!

Anyway, after talking to them for a while they told us that they had been to the actual Oktoberfest in Germany and they even showed us some photos!

They also gave us this lovely heart shaped gingerbread (a type of cookie) that they got from the beer festival so we will fight over who gets it later!

Thank you very much, we hope we can go to Oktoberfest sometime in the future....!

Come and try our Japanese and German beers!!

The other day a customer came with this t-shirt!

He had been staying with a host family in Nagasaki who gave the t-shirt to him as a present!

We want one too! It fits right with our Ryoma Sakamoto theme at the moment!

Last week, a very friendly journalist stayed for a few days in our hotel.

He asked me what could be interesting to see in Tokyo for the Obon weekend....

Just a few days before, I had been offered two tickets to go to some big wadaiko battle..."The 9th Tokyo International Taiko Contest"!!!

I really wanted to go there, but as I had other plans for that sunday, I decided to offer him the tickets!

He was so happy to go that he bought be some present in return!!!!

We were given some chocolate yesterday!

They looked so good that we tried one straight away...

Anne however decided that they didn't look sweet enough so she did this

yes it's cream...

lots of cream...

LOTS of cream....

I really don't understand how she can eat something so sweet!

Unfortunately when I arrived at work the next morning most of the chocolate was gone because Mr. Yoshida had eaten them all. I didn't ask if he ate them with cream though.
