[ASAKUSA] Japanese Tea Ceremony & Mukojima Hyakkaen Garden Tour by TCGC

  • Fee : JPY 1,500 (Tax included)
In the first part of the event, a master of sadō will give you lessons on basic manners of Japanese tea ceremony. 
Then we will visit Mukojima Hyakkaen Garden, one of the historical gardens in Tokyo, with experienced guides from Tokyo City Guide Club. 
You'll enjoy Nodate - garden style Japanese tea ceremony. 

After the tour breakup, you can also join WADAIKO -Japanese Drums- Performance in Sakura Hostel Asakusa(7:00PM-8:00PM).

Tour Schedule: 
1:30PM- Lessons on basic manners of Japanese Tea Ceremony at Asakusa Public Hall 
3:00PM- Departure for Mukojima Hyakkaen Garden by Tobu Railway 
3:30PM- Arriving at Mukojima Hyakkaen Garden and enjoy garden style Japanese tea ceremony 
5:00PM  Break up at the garden or you can come back to Asakusa with guides (arrival around 5:30PM)

WADAIKO -Japanese Drums- Performance & Workshop

The WADAIKO drum performer, Erika FUJII, a member of the professional percussion group "Samurai Drum IKKI", working actively all over the nation and overseas, performs solo at SAKURA HOSTEL ASAKUSA.
Erika, a short skinny Japanese lady in her 20s, will shake you and move your emotion with her powerful drumbeats. 

You'll be also given a brief instruction about what wadaikos are and an opportunity to play drums with her.
Be brave to join this little workshop, which is amazing! 
In the beginning it looks hard, but in the end, you'll find yourself being a good drummer.

[ASAKUSA] Sumo Watching Tour(宿泊者限定 Hotel/House guests only)

Sumo (相撲) is Japan's national sport as you know. 
Grand Tournaments in Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan are held only in January, May and September. 

On September 13th and 19th, SAKURA HOSTEL ASAKUSA staff will guide you to watch the sumo tournament together.

Samurai Fight Show

Enjoy the tate (Japanese sword fight performing arts) by a group of young male and female entertainers, 
who dance and battle with beautiful moves of Japanese swords so close to you
that you might feel nearly being hit by a sword! 

Or course, there is a chance for you to be on the stage. 
Don't forget to bring your camera and take a nice photo of you as a samurai!
