We cooked Turkish cuisine with our guests at Sakura Hotel Nippori!

August 1st 2025

Sakura Hotel Nippori guests Umut and Pauline were certified as chefs for a day!

On their last night of their three-week trip to Japan, the couple became chefs!
When they first stayed with us in mid-July, we hit it off and promised to cook Turkish cuisine for them. On this night, after returning from a trip to Osaka and Hiroshima, they showed off their cooking skills as promised.

Guests from all over the world join in one after another! It's a huge party!

By the time the delicious-looking dishes were ready, it was peak time for guests returning from sightseeing.
We felt bad to enjoy it by ourselves, so we said, "Yes, we're making Turkish food now, so please come and join us and enjoy some," and guests from the UK, France, the US, China, Italy, and Japan joined us, and in no time a circle of people from around the world had formed around the food!

Great company and good food, what more do you need?

The party continued until late at night, and everyone I met for the first time that day became friends, regardless of nationality. Everyone was chatting away about whatever was on their mind, and the conversation was flowing. Where else could I experience such a happy time? The Sakura Hotel! (lol)

We are truly grateful to Umut and Pauline for kindly preparing the food that brought the world together. We unanimously awarded them the title of Chef for a Day. Here's an impromptu certificate!

They were both very pleased with the experience, and we have been in contact by email since returning home.

The Turkish cuisine created this time will first be served at Sakura Cafe Nippori.

Thank you Umut and Pauline!!

When you come back to Tokyo, please come back anytime!!
